Preschool YouTube Lessons

Ashley Weston, Staff Reporter

The children for the preschool on campus were unable to return at their normal time this year due to COVID-19. In response, the early childhood teacher, Andrea Lesko, decided to make Youtube videos to engage the kids at home. There are different teaching groups with three to four student helpers  in each, and groups are assigned different subjects for their lessons each week with a central theme for everyone. The videos are filmed and edited by the group members and everyone brings in supplies and ideas for each week’s lesson. There is class time dedicated to working on the videos everyday and all parts of the preschool and most of the materials are accessible to use when making the videos. The creation of the videos is full of teamwork and communication, encouraging everyone to work together to produce a good quality video.
