Abbreviated to mean “biography picture”, a biopic film is one that dedicates itself to telling the life story of a particular person or group of people, often those from a previous time who have maintained a status of cultural relevance and fascination even in this day and age. Alongside Whitney Houston, some other celebrities who have had biopics made about them are Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Johnny Cash, and Marilyn Monroe.
