Out of the western countries, the United Kingdom became the first to authorize a vaccine on Dec. 2, 2020. The vaccine began distribution on January 4th of 2020. At this time there were 530,000 doses ready for distribution but 100 million ordered. As of Jan. 13, 2021, there have been almost 1.5 million people vaccinated.
