Bowling has risen in popularity at this school. The Brantley Bowlers had an amazing season this year by having great rolls and sparring with no pins in their path to victory. Now bowling is not all about winning, it is also about having fun and self-growth.
The regular season of bowling has come to an end and it came to a striking conclusion with a 13-2 winning streak. The highest pin rolled in a game was 2010 pins. They had some intense matches but ended up beating many schools including Hagerty High school twice in a row. Brantley Bowlers have earned their victories this season with teamwork and strategy. The skill it takes to bowl is something that takes practice.
“ I like bowling because it is a mix of strategy and skill, and it is exciting to watch our scores as a team,” senior Sarah Ross said.
Ross had a new high game of 166 and has broadened her horizon with bowling and has not only gained knowledge of a sport she did not have previously she gained the ability to roll and bowl with skill and it has shown in her scores. Ross was not the only team member who gained something during their time as a Brantley Bowler.
“I am thankful I tried a new sport outside my comfort zone,” senior Aleigh Smith said.
Smith has a personal best of 168 and has only come this far because she tried out a new sport and excelled. The Brantley Bowlers have won many of their games by using the skills and strategies that they have learned and it has fully paid off. Skill is a great thing to learn in a sport but what makes bowling special is the team coming together, not only as a team but as friends who have fun together.
“Bowling is fun and easy and I like playing with my team.” junior Max Vegliante said.
Veglinate had a season-high game of 176 and also enjoyed the sport with his team. Teamwork and friendship are the base of the Brantley Bowlers that hold them up so they can reach their goals together as a team. This bowling season gave not only bragging rights to the bowlers but also new friends that could last a lifetime.
This bowling season is over but the experience that it gave to the team members will never be forgotten. The Brantley Bowlers this year have set a perfect example for bowling seasons to come. The final ball was rolled and it did nothing but rock.
