Abby Roberson, Staff Reporter

Abby Roberson is a senior at Lake Brantley Highschool and a first-year staff reporter for The Brantley Banner. In addition, she is the President of National English Honor Society, President of Pre-Med Club, and secretary for the campus’s Interact Club. Outside of school, Roberson volunteers at Teague Middle school and Second Harvest. She enjoys books and movies in her free time and hopes to present unique opinions to the discourse surrounding them.

On the last day of spirit week, Friday, Sept. 16, students came to school wearing red, white and blue in support of the “Patriot Riot” theme. Students also gathered to purchase the “Break Mary” shirts at lunch to wear them to the highly anticipated rivalry game later that night.

Thursday, Sept. 15 boasted a country attire to represent the theme “Heard the Rams”. Students dressed in a variety items such as of cowboy hats, flannels and boots.

For Wednesday “Twin Team Up” theme, seniors Angelina Joseph, Julia Hubbell, Joseph Molina, Jessica Song and Soor Hansalia showed up in matching orange and black outfits to participate in school pep. “Unlike other spirit days, twin day allowed for a lot of room for interpretation which allowed me and my friends to get creative,” Molina said. “Participating on any day is always fun, but this theme was easier and funnier to do with a group.”

On Monday, Sept. 12, the annual Lake Mary ram statue was placed in front of the Darwin Booth Tree in the courtyard. Student Government members decorate the ram in accordance with the spirit day themes, which on this day, was “black-out or back-out”

On Aug. 12, freshman were welcomed into the auditorium during their English classes for a teacher-led orientation. Upperclassmen helped to create a fun environment through welcoming them, and playing a game of "Epic Rock, Paper, Scissors," in which freshman played a tournament of the game, until there was only one winner.
